Franz Wagner Helps Magic Go Undefeated During Preseason Play

Orlando jumped out to a seemingly comfortable 17-point lead after the first quarter. New Orleans battled back, trimming the deficit to three points entering the fourth quarter.

The Magic responded with a 40-point effort over the game's final minutes en route to a 132-125 victory.

Franz Wagner paced the offense with 24 points on 8-for-14 shooting overall and 3-for-6 from beyond the arc. Paolo Banchero finished with 19 points, 10 boards, and three dimes, connecting on six of his 11 shot attempts.

Miami Keeps Up Early Before Coming Up Short Against The Grizzlies

Despite entering this matchup with an 0-5 record, the Heat kept it close through the first three quarters and led 103-102 heading into the final frame. Unfortunately, Memphis produced a 39-22 scoring advantage in the period en route to a 141-125 win.

Bam Adebayo led the way with 23 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Normal Powell also scored 23 points and handed out six assists.

All five starters reached double figures for the Heat, but it wasn't enough to prevent the team from going winless in the preseason.

Magic vs Heat NBA Pick

Here's a look at what you need to know for both teams ahead of this contest.

  • The Magic are 8-1 straight-up (SU) in their last nine games against Southeast Division opponents.
  • Orlando is 4-1 ATS in its previous five home outings.
  • The Heat are 13-5 in their last 18 contests against the Magic.
  • Miami is 13-7 against the spread in its previous 20 matchups.

Miami holds a slight 3-2 edge in the previous five meetings. But with Tyler Herro on the shelf for the next 8-12 weeks (foot/ankle), look for the home team to come out on top here.
