New York knocked off the Philadelphia 76ers for the second straight time, improving their preseason record to 2-0. Jalen Brunson was the team's top scorer. He put up 14 points on 5-for-10 shooting from the field. He also tallied two assists and two steals.
OG Aunuoby added 13 points on a 3-for-5 effort from beyond the arc. Mikal Bridges contributed 10 points, two rebounds, and two blocks.
The Timberwolves trailed by 13 points heading into the final frame. However, Minnesota forced an extra session—courtesy of a 42-29 scoring advantage in the fourth quarter—before coming up short in overtime.
Johnny Juzang led the team with 20 points off the bench. He shot 6-of-9 overall and 6-for-8 from 3-point range. Anthony Edwards finished with 17 points, and Julius Randle added 14 points and four boards.
