Clippers Kick Off Preseason Slate In Dominant Fashion
Los Angeles opened preseason play with a game against the Loong-Lions. The contest was close early, as the Clippers led 69-64 at the break.
However, the second half was a completely different story, with Los Angeles outscoring its opponent by a 73-31 margin. This includes a 42-8 advantage in the third quarter, resulting in a 142-95 vicotry for the home team.
Kawhi Leonard led the way with 18 points and two assists on 5-for-8 shooting from beyond the arc. Ivica Zubac scored 15 points and collected five rebounds. Los Angeles also got 98 points from its bench.
Denver Seeks Second Straight Win
The Nuggets jumped out to a 34-26 lead after the first quarter and led by six points (94-88) entering the fourth quarter.
Toronto fought back to tie the game at 94 apiece. A driving layup by Nikola Jokic gave the road team the lead for good, as Denver went on to win 112-108.
Four of the Nuggets' starters reached double figures. Christian Braun put up 19 points and shot 8-for-8 from the field, including three 3-pointers. Jokic and Jamal Murray added 17 points each.
