This contest came down to the last few possessions. With the game tied at 108, Celtics big man Xavier Tillman Sr. hit the game-winning basket with 1.4 seconds left, allowing the Cs to conclude their preseason with a 3-1 mark.
Derrick White led the men in green with 33 points, nine rebounds, six assists, and four blocked shots on 10-for-23 shooting from the floor. Anfernee Simons added 14 points and four rebounds off the bench.
Forward Jayson Tatum could miss the entirety of the 2025-26 campaign. It will be interesting to see if this group can still contend for one of the top spots in the conference without its top scorer in the fold.
Joel Embiid, Sixers End The Preseason With A Win Over The Timberwolves
Philadelphia was 0-3 heading into their preseason finale against Minnesota. But thanks to a solid offensive showing in which the team scored at least 30 points in every quarter, the Sixers concluded their preseason slate with a 126-110 victory.
Tyrese Maxey was one of three starters to reach double figures. He finished with 27 points, seven assists, four rebounds, and two steals. VJ Edgecombe scored 26 points, along with six rebounds, five steals, and three assists.
Joel Embiid, who hadn't played in eight months, registered 14 points, eight assists, seven rebounds, and three steals. In what has been an injury-plagued career, the Sixers are hoping that their talented big man can stay healthy this season.
