Celtics Hope To Conclude Preseason On A High Note
After coming up short against the Raptors a few days ago, Boston enters this contest on the heels of a dominant 138-107 win against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
With the Cavaliers opting to rest their starters, the game quickly got out of hand. Boston led by 16 points after the first quarter and held a 70-46 advantage at the break on its way to an easy 31-point victory.
Anfernee Simons led the way with 21 points off the bench on 6-for-9 shooting from 3-point range. Derrick White added 16 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and three blocks.
The Celtics' defense held Cleveland to 35.3 percent shooting overall and 20 percent from beyond the arc.
Toronto Seeks Fourth Straight Victory
Following a five-point loss to Denver in their preseason opener, the Raptors have won three straight, including a 113-112 victory against the Washington Wizards on Sunday.
Fast forward to the fourth quarter. The Raptors led 111-104 with 2:44 left to play before Washington used an 8-0 burst to take a 112-111 lead with 0.8 seconds remaining. However, Jared Rhoden connected with Olivier Sarr for an alley-oop layup on the final play of the game, giving Toronto its third straight victory.
Immanuel Quickley paced the offense with 18 points, three rebounds, and three assists. RJ Barrett finished with 15 points, three rebounds, and two steals.
