Cavaliers Aiming For Second Consecutive Win
Cleveland opened the season with a loss against the New York Knicks. And the game against Brooklyn turned out to be anything but a cakewalk.
The Cavaliers were up by as many as 25 points only to see their opponent rally to get within 121-120 in the final frame. But thanks to a 10-4 burst down the stretch, Cleveland held on for a 131-124 victory.
Despite missing key rotational players, Cleveland's offense placed five players in double figures. Donovan Mitchell pumped in 35 points, handed out five assists to go along with three steals. Jarrett Allen and Sam Merrill scored 22 points apiece and combined for nine rebounds.
Milwaukee Aims To Improve To 3-0
On the other side, the Bucks have won two straight, including a 122-116 win against the Toronto Raptors on Friday night.
In a battle between two teams coming off impressive scoring efforts in their season openers, it was fitting that the game was tied at 86 through three quarters. Milwaukee outscored Toronto 36-30 in the fourth quarter to remain undefeated.
Giannis Antetokounmpo led the way with 31 points, 20 rebounds, and seven assists. He is the first palyer in NBA history to average more than 30 points, 15 rebounds, and five assists across the first two games of a season.
