Despite Recent Setback, The Bulls Are Off To A Decent Start
Chicago began its season with wins in each of its first five games. But that streak ended with a 128-116 loss to the New York Knicks on Sunday.
The Bulls trailed by 10 points after the first quarter before New York pulled away for good with a 37-29 scoring advantage in the third quarter. The Knicks shot 5-for-10 from 3-point range during the game-changing stretch en route to a 12-point victory.
All five starters reached double figures. Josh Giddey scored a team-high 23 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, and handed out 12 assists. Nikola Vucevic posted a double-double that consisted of 17 points and 14 rebounds.
Philadelphia Aiming For Second Straight Victory
On the other side, the Sixers have also won five of their first six games, including a 129-105 victory over the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday.
Philadelphia led by as many as 18 points before the Nets trimmed the deficit to a dozen heading into the final frame. The Sixers answered with a 9-0 run to start the fourth quarter, which essentially put the game out of reach.
Kelly Oubre Jr. was one of five starters to reach double figures. He led the way with 29 points on 12-for-21 shooting from the field. Tyrese Maxey contributed 26 points, seven assists, and six rebounds.
