Chicago trailed by three points heading into the final frame. But thanks to a 40-point explosion in the fourth quarter, they managed to hold on for 126-120 victory, concluding their preseason with a 3-2 record.
The Bulls' offense placed seven players in double figures. Matas Buzelis led the way with 19 points on 8-for-13 shooting overall and 2-for-5 from deep. Julian Phillips led the bench unit with 17 points and six boards in 22 minutes of action.
Detroit Cruised To An Easy Victory Over Wizards Thanks To Hot Start
The Pistons entered their season finale amid consecutive losses to the Milwaukee Bucks and Cleveland Cavaliers. However, they quickly raced out to an 11-point lead during the game's first 12 minutes.
Washington did get within six points at the break, but the momentum would be short lived. Detroit responded with a 62-47 scoring advantage in the second half on its way to an easy 119-98 victory.
Jalen Duren paced the offense with 20 points, six rebounds, and two steals. Meanwhile, Cade Cunningham scored 16 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, connecting on six of his 10 shot attempts.
