Milwaukee held a slim 90-87 lead heading into the fourth quarter. But thanks to a 29-22 burst by OKC over the final 12 minutes, the Bucks saw their three-game win streak come to end with a 116-112 loss to the defending champs.
Cole Anthony led the team with 21 points off the bench on 7-for-11 shooting overall and 5-for-6 from beyond the arc. Giannis Antetokounmpo added 16 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and two steals while connecting on five of his eight shot attempts.
The Wizards trailed 29-18 after the first quarter and 39-23 midway through the second. Sure, the team battled back to get within six points at the break. But the Pistons responded with a 62-47 scoring advantage in the second half en route to a 21-point victory.
Kyshawn George was one of four players to reach double figures. He led the way with 20 points, six rebounds, and two assists, going 8-of-11 from the field. CJ McCollum finished with 17 points, four rebounds, and two assists. He shot 4-for-7 from long range.
