Event Preview
The end of the NASCAR regular season is creeping into sight, and by the end of August, we will know the 16 drivers that will be involved in the playoffs. There are three regular season races remaining following this weekend’s Iowa Corn 350, with next weekend’s edition being the penultimate road race of the campaign.
The Iowa Corn 350 has only been on the Cup Series schedule since last year, with Ryan Blaney winning the inaugural edition. Blaney also comes into this weekend in reliable form after finishing in the top ten in each of the last two races.
Chase Elliott has seized control at the top of the leaderboard after finishing in the top five in four of the last seven races. William Byron has dropped to second after finishing outside of the top 20 in four of the last six races on the schedule.
Kyle Larson appears to be a driver who is hitting form at this crucial period of the season. Larson finished second last weekend, meaning that he has now finished in the top four in each of the previous two weekends. Denny Hamlin was the winner of the Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400, before he took third in last weekend’s Brickyard 400.
Iowa Corn 350 Picks
Once again, plenty hold claims this weekend. However, the ultra-consistent Alex Bowman could be an interesting play. Bowman was third a couple of weeks ago, and he achieved a 12th top-ten finish in 2025 at last weekend’s Brickyard 400.
