Event Preview
The pressure will be intensified as the NASCAR Cup Series regular season draws to its conclusion this weekend. For the second time this season, Daytona International Speedway hosts action, as the Coke Zero Sugar 400 will be staged on Saturday evening.
The field will complete a total of 400 miles, which is covered by 160 laps. Each of the opening two stages consists of 50 laps, while the final stage will see the remaining 60 laps completed.
William Byron continues to set the pace at the top of the Drivers’ Championship, despite finishing 12th in the Cook Out 400 last time out. Chase Elliott, Denny Hamlin, and Kyle Larson round off the top four in the current standings.
However, this weekend is all about securing a place in the top 16. Austin Cindric reignited his chances of a playoff finish this season with an excellent fifth-place finish last Saturday.
There will be increased pressure on experienced drivers such as Brad Keselowski and Kyle Busch this weekend, as both need a positive result to secure their places in the playoffs.
Coke Zero Sugar 400 Picks
This is always one of the most exciting races in the regular season. A chance could be taken on the ultra-consistent Erik Jones this weekend at a massive price. He has achieved two top 16 finishes in the last three races, and a positive result on Saturday would secure his place in the playoffs.
