Cam Schlittler made an emphatic statement in his first start of 2026, shutting down the Giants with just one hit over 5.1 innings while striking out eight. The 25-year-old rookie sensation is coming off a breakout 2025 campaign where he posted a 4-3 record with a 2.96 ERA in 14 starts, striking out 84 in 73 innings with a 1.22 WHIP.
Against Kirby, Aaron Judge is 1 for 3 with a home run. Giancarlo Stanton is 2 for 4 with a homer and a double. Randal Grichuk has also taken Kirby deep. The Yankees' lineup has been carried by their power duo, with Judge and Stanton each blasting 2 home runs in the opening series.
George Kirby takes the ball for Seattle after a solid season debut, tossing six strong innings against Cleveland with just one earned run allowed on two hits while striking out six. The 27-year-old endured a difficult 2025 season, going 10-8 with a 4.21 ERA in 126 innings after missing the first two months with right shoulder inflammation.

The Yankees have the better lineup top-to-bottom with more experience against Kirby. T-Mobile Park is a pitcher-friendly environment, but New York's power bats have shown they can touch up the Mariners' ace.
