Singer Looks to Rebound After Opening Day Gem
Brady Singer's Reds debut was perfect. Seven scoreless innings against Texas on Opening Day. Allowed one hit. Struck out five. The 29-year-old right-hander looked like the ace Cincinnati traded for when they sent Jonathan India to Kansas City.
His second start was different. Singer gave up six runs in four innings against Boston on April 6. Needed 78 pitches to get 12 outs.
The Reds are hitting .204 with 10 home runs. Elly De La Cruz leads the team with three homers and six RBI while batting .250. Sal Stewart is the hot bat at .351. Eugenio Suarez has seven RBI despite hitting .195.
Perez Tries to Build on Strong 2025 Finish
Eury Perez is 22 years old. Turns 23 on April 15. He's 6-foot-8 and throws 98 mph. The Marlins made him the youngest starting pitcher in franchise history when he debuted at 20 years and 27 days old on May 12, 2023. His first regular-season start on April 1 was rough. Allowed five runs in 4.2 innings against the White Sox. Took the loss. His second start on April 4 was worse. Five runs again in 4.2 innings.
Miami is hitting .253 with eight home runs. Liam Hicks is crushing the ball at .296 with three homers and 12 RBI. Xavier Edwards is batting .390. Jesus Sanchez is at .462 with a .692 slugging percentage.
Reds vs Marlins Pick
Cincinnati is rolling—five straight wins. The Marlins are home favorites, but they've scored just three runs in two games against the Reds. Take the hot team with the better pitcher. Plus money on a road team with momentum is the play.
