Event Preview

The period of relaxation for Formula 1 drivers ends on Sunday, August 31, as the summer break concludes, and the action gets back underway. A thrilling final half of the season is set, as the destination of the championship battle will be determined.

Oscar Piastri holds the current advantage, as he sits nine points clear of teammate Lando Norris. The Australian has been consistent throughout the season, but he has finished second to Norris in three of the last four races.

Norris was the pre-season favorite to win the Drivers’ Championship in 2025, but mistakes have cost him a place at the summit. However, huge confidence will be taken from the fact that he has won three of the last four races.

Max Verstappen will have the home advantage this weekend, and the Dutchman has won this weekend’s Grand Prix on three previous occasions. However, he hasn’t finished on the podium since the Canadian Grand Prix in the middle of June.

Ferrari look to be the standout team to finish second in the Constructors’ Championship. Charles Leclerc has been in great recent form, taking podiums in two of the last four races.

George Russell claimed third in the recent Hungarian Grand Prix to reignite Mercedes’ hopes of a strong finish to the season.

Dutch Grand Prix Picks

All eyes will be on the McLaren teammates when F1 action resumes this weekend. However, we like the chances of Piastri to record a first victory in the Netherlands to extend his advantage at the top of the Drivers’ Championship standings.
