Winter Olympics: Who Will Win The Most Gold Medals Picks

Unlike the summer games, the Winter Olympics have been dominated by nations that traditionally have colder climates in the winter. Norway has been the dominant force in the event, leading the all-time medal table with 148 golds.

This dominance continued in 2022, topping the medal table with 37 overall medals, which included 16 golds. Sturla Holm Laegreid and Johannes Hosflot Klaebo will rank among their two most likely gold medal hopes in Italy.

The USA has also achieved notable moments at the winter Olympics throughout history, winning nine gold medals four years ago.

Only Norway have achieved more golds in the history of the event. American hopes will come across a range of sports this winter, with Chloe Kim leading the way in the snowboarding, and Jessie Diggins likely to be a gold medal hope in the Cross-Country Skiing.

Germany will also be expected to kick on following one of their best ever efforts at the Winter Olympics in 2022. The nation won 12 golds and 27 overall medals in a historic showing. However, Germany may struggle to replicate that success in such intense competition this time.
