The Champions League is back again, and we have a superb match to cover this midweek. Atalanta awaits Real Madrid at Gewiss stadium in Bergamo, looking to extend their magical run, which now stretches throughout two seasons. La Dea won the hearts of all the neutral fans, and to be honest, the majority of the football community (apart from Real’s fans) would like to see them advancing to the next stage. But that won’t be easy with Zinedine Zidane and Los Blancos across the field.

Atalanta vs Real Madrid Preview

La Dea’s (Another) Mission Impossible

In case you wondered what La Dea means, it stands for “the Goddess” in Italian. This Goddess is up against the King, and comes in this event after a 4-2 victory over Napoli last night.

It was a wonderful performance of the hosts in that one, as they packed four goals into the net of one of Italy’s finest teams right now. This was their third victory in a row, following one in Cagliari, 0-1 and another one against Napoli in Coppa Italia, 3-1. Overall they have just one defeat in the past 20 matches.

Atalanta’s matches at home are more than likable, with lots of goals and chances for the same included in each of them. For example, in the past five, we saw scores on both ends of the field, and at least four goals in all those events. So it is pretty much a spectacle to watch La Dea at Gewiss, regardless of the opponent.

Real Overwhelmed With Injuries

The Madridians are coming to Italy without nine first-team members. The majority of them are starters, and we can say without any hesitation that Zinedine Zidane has enormous problems before Wednesday’s clash. Karim Benzema, arguably the best player on the team, is injured, as well as Sergio Ramos, Marcelo, Dani Carvajal, Rodrygo, Valverde, and Militao etc. To cut it short, it is a nightmare situation in Real’s locker room.

However, even with all the injuries and problems, the Spanish champions are not losing their grip, winning the past four matches, not allowing a goal in the previous three.

Zidane prefers a conservative approach to the game, and is looking to protect his own goal first and then to attack. That wasn’t the case when Ronaldo played, but now, the French manager had to adjust his tactics to the new circumstances.

Atalanta vs Real Madrid Prediction and Pick

We will be brave here, and bet on Atalanta’s win. It’s not because we have like their style of play and are refreshment in the European football, but due to their overall form and the fact that Real’s situation with injuries puts them in a bad position. La Dea’s win here is +140, and that is something worth risking.

Pick: Atalanta +140
