Fight Preview
One of the world’s most famous boxers will return to the ring in 2026, with Tyson Fury making a fifth comeback from retirement. Tyson Fury will have his sights set on a showdown with compatriot Anthony Joshua later this summer, and this bout is expected to blow away the cobwebs. Just like the Super Bowl, that expected battle is hugely anticipated.
The Gypsy King hasn’t been in action since losing commandingly for the second time against Oleksandr Usyk in December 2024. Back-to-back losses against the pound-for-pound king have done little to damage his legacy, but the results of his fights this year could likely be his lasting memory in the sport.
Arslan Makhmudov is a relatively unknown prospect at this level, having previously won the WBC Continental Americas title, while also holding the WBC Silver belt in 2022. The Russian-born fighter has won 21 of his 23 professional bouts, with a staggering 19 of his wins coming via knockout.
The fighter showcased his ability in the ring last year, as he controlled a bout against David Allen before winning on points. That was his highest profile victory to date, but this is a significant step up in opposition.
Tyson Fury vs. Arslan Makhmudov Picks
Arslan Makhmudov boasts the knockout power to at least make this an interesting clash in the heavyweight division. But, we fully expect Fury to cruise to a win and set his sights on a major date with Joshua later this year.
