An exciting evening of boxing action is set for Tokyo, Japan on Nov 23, as Tomoya Tsuboi vs Carlos Cuadras will be staged. Tsuboi is widely considered to be one of the best Japanese fighters on the planet, having won the gold medal at the 2021 AIBA World Boxing Championships, and winning bronze medals at both the 2022 Asian Games and 2022 Asian Amateur Boxing Championships.
His progression has continued since turning pro earlier this year. He scored a TKO win over Boonrueang Phayom in March, before capturing the WBA Asia Pacific Bantamweight title in his second professional bout against Tran Van Thao in June.
Carlos Cuadras also has pedigree as an amateur, winning the gold medal in the bantamweight division at the 2007 Pan American Games. The Mexican holds more experience as a professional, winning 44 of his 50 fights.
His run of form since the start of 2023 has caught the eye, accumulating five straight victories. He was last in action in the middle of May, scoring a unanimous decision win against Luis Guzman Torres.
