A long Thanksgiving weekend of football wraps up on Monday when the Steelers (3-7) visit the Colts (4-6). Obviously the postseason hopes for both of these sub .500 teams are on life support, but a win on Monday night at least leaves a faint hope for a second half turnaround. Indianapolis is a slight -2.5 favorite but Pittsburgh coach Mike Tomlin is well versed in primetime games.

Before Betting on Steelers vs Colts

Pittsburgh’s offense looked solid last week, putting up a season high 30 points. Unfortunately their defense had it’s worst performance of the season in a 37-30 loss to the Bengals. Steelers rookie QB Kenny Pickett threw for the second most yards in his career (265) while Najee Harris had a couple rushing TDs.

The Bengals have a good offense, but they were also missing WR Ja’Marr Chase and lost RB Joe Mixon during the game so the Steelers allowing 37 points has to be considered a disappointment. Three of Pittsburgh’s last six opponents have scored 35+, but once again the other two were Super Bowl contenders in Philadelphia (35-13) and Buffalo (38-3). The Colts are not Super Bowl contenders – at this point anyways.

You have to give the Colts credit, they are playing hard for Jeff Saturday who was hired even with no NFL coaching experience at all. Indianapolis beat Las Vegas 25-20 on the road two weeks ago and nearly pulled off the upset over the 10-1 Eagles, ultimately losing 17-16 on a late Jalen Hurts TD.

Steelers vs Colts Prediction & Pick

The Steelers have the league’s second worst passing defense, and the Colts have found a new strategy letting QB Matt Ryan throw the intermittent, fast-strike passes. Ryan was 21/28 against the Raiders and 23/32 vs. the Eagles. At the same time, the Colts defense is playing solid too so give them the edge at home.
Pick: Colts -2.5
