In the first of a pair of College Football playoff games – the Oklahoma Sooners and the Georgia Bulldogs will get together in Pasadena for the Rose Bowl. The winner of this game will move to the College Football Championship game against either the Alabama Crimson Tide or the Clemson Tigers. The Oklahoma Sooners are the #2 seed, but are the underdogs in this game. The Sooners are 12-1 coming into the season with their lone loss coming at home to the Iowa State Cyclones.

The Georgia Bulldogs – out of the SEC are also 12-1 on the season. The Bulldogs won the SEC over the Auburn Tigers and are the #3 seed in the playoff. Georgia’s only loss this season came in the regular season to Auburn. The Georgia Bulldogs are -3 over the Oklahoma Sooners in the Rose Bowl on Monday. 

Riley Enjoying First Season

The Oklahoma Sooners have the Heisman Trophy winner. Quarterback Baker Mayfield was in and out of practice this week with a illness, but he appears to be ready to play on Monday. The quarterback threw for more than 4,300 yards and 41 touchdowns on the season. His top target this season was Marquise Brown. Brown needs just 19 yards to get to 1,000 on the season.

Rodney Anderson is the lead running back for the Sooners, and approaching 1,000 yards on the ground as well. Anderson carried the football 162 times for 11 touchdowns. The Sooners passes for more than 367 yards and rushed for 215. Oklahoma Scored 44.9 points per game and allowed 25 per game.

Bulldogs Also With Young Head Coach

The Georgia Bulldogs are led by head coach Kirby Smart. Smart has seen his Bulldogs put together a very solid 2017 season. The Bulldogs are known for their ability to run the football. Georgia saw the combination of Nick Chubb and Sony Michel smash opponents all season long. Chubb led the team with nearly 1,200 yards and 13 touchdowns.

The Bulldogs won the SEC East by 2 games over the South Carolina Gamecocks. Georgia started the season with wins over Appalachian State, Notre Dame and Samford in non conference play. The Bulldogs other non conference game was a rivalry game on the road at the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.

Passing Game leads Sooners

The Oklahoma Sooners are bound and determined to show that they are for real in this game. The Sooners and Bulldogs will certainly see a large crowd of fans in Pasadena for this game, so there is no home field advantage in this game. The passing offense for the Sooners is better than anything Georgia can throw at home.
