Renan Ferreira vs. Rizvan Kuniev is one of the most interesting matchups of the 2023 PFL Week 2. This is the first fight on the main card, meaning that it should start around 6:30 p.m. (Eastern Time) on Friday, April 7, 2023.

Before Betting on Renan Ferreira vs. Rizvan Kuniev

Rizvan Kuniev is coming to Vegas carrying the role of the favorite. Offshore betting sites are giving -200 on the Dagestani fighter beating Renan Ferreira. We fully understand why that is the case. After all, Kuniev is 12-2-1 in his professional career and is undefeated since 2015 with 9 wins in a row.

However, most of those wins happened in local competitions in Russia, most notably, Eagle FC, a promotion owned by Khabib Nurmagomedov. He did fight in Dana White’s Contender Series as well but didn’t get a contract with the UFC. His opponent has way more experience fighting at a top level.

Renan Ferreira is 9-3-2 overall with some really impressive wins in his portfolio. For instance, in 2019, he defeated Jared Vanderaa, who later went on to become a UFC fighter. In 2021, Ferreira fought the former UFC Heavyweight Champion, Fabricio Werdum, and beat him by TKO in round 1, but it was later overturned after it became clear that he had tapped out earlier.

In 2022, his fight with Klidson Abreu was also overturned. Ferreira lost by decision, but the fight was declared no contest after his opponent tested positive for a banned substance.

When it comes to Ferreira’s losses, one happened by submission, one by disqualification, and one by TKO. The TKO one happened to Ante Delija in 2022, the fighter who then went on to win the 2022 PFL Heavyweight Tournament.
