Lucrative action on the PGA Tour is set for this week, as the Phoenix Open gets underway at TPC Scottsdale on Feb 5. World number one Scottie Scheffler will be a red-hot favorite, but is there any stopping the world’s best player? Find our picks here.

Event Preview

The red-hot action on the sporting calendar will be headlined by the Super Bowl LX showdown between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks. However, there is also competitive action on the golf schedule, with the Phoenix Open seeing some of the world’s best competing for their share of the $9.2 million purse.

Scottie Scheffler will be a red-hot favorite for success this weekend, as the world’s best player chases a second win of 2026. The American has a reliable record in the Phoenix Open, winning on two previous occasions. Is a deserving price for a third win at TPC Scottsdale.

Cameron Young is a big-priced alternative to the favorite this weekend. Young has excelled on previous trips to the course, taking a share of eighth and 12th on his two visits since 2024.

Si Woo Kim is without a win in ten starts, but he has posted four top fives over that period. The South Korean also goes well at this course, finishing in the top 25 on his last three starts.

Sahith Theegala is one of the most interesting selections at bigger prices. The American has finished in the top ten on his last two starts, showing that he is back to his very best. Has previous form at TPC Scottsdale, finishing T3 in 2022 and fifth in 2024.

Phoenix Open Picks

At the prices, I’d like to take on Scheffler this weekend. Hideki Matsuyama has an excellent record on course in recent weeks, taking two wins and a T2 from five top ten finishes at TPC Scottsdale.

Has shown that he’s back to his very best in recent weeks, and is hard to ignore at +2800. Also of serious interest at +1800 in the ‘Without Scheffler’ market.
