The Boston Celtics and the Cleveland Cavaliers will square off in game 2 of their Eastern Conference Final playoff series. The Celtics currently lead the series 1-0, after blowing out the Cavs, 108-83 in game 1. The Celtics will be trying to protect home court and take a 2-0 lead before the series shifts to Cleveland. The Cavaliers must find a way to bounce back and try to even the series.

The Boston Celtics continue to prove doubters wrong, and the young Celtics were ready for the moment in game 1. LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers have been in this position before and they will bounce back for game 2. The Boston Celtics are -1 over the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 2 on Tuesday.

Cavaliers Must Make Shots

The Cleveland Cavaliers lost game 1, because they were unable to make shots from the perimeter. The Cavs shot just 15.4% from the three point line in the series opener, with LeBron missing all five of his three point attempts. The Celtics are not going to let the Cavaliers beat them at the rim, so there is a ton of pressure on the Cavaliers shooters in this series. Cleveland must make shots if they are going to win game 2.

LeBron James was unstoppable during the first two playoff series, but the Celtics were able to control him in game 1. James finished with just 15 points on 5-16 shooting. The Celtics are going to continue to throw extra defenders at LeBron, and he has to decide if he is going to continue to attack or trust his teammates. LeBron James will come back with a huge response in game 2.

Celtics Focusing on LeBron

Celtics coach, Brad Stevens came up with a terrific game plan for the series opener, and the Boston defense completely shut down the Cavs. Stevens inserted Marcus Morris into the starting lineup and the veteran did a tremendous job of guarding LeBron. The Celtics must continue to play great defense if they want to take a 2-0 series lead.

Morris also provided a huge lift to the Celtics offense, scoring 21 points and grabbing a team high 10 rebounds. Jaylen Brown led the Celtics in scoring finishing with 23 points in the game 1 win. The Celtics don’t have a true superstar, but they continue to win games due to their incredible depth.

Cleveland Responds, Wins Game 2

The Celtics continue to prove the doubters wrong, and absolutely destroyed the Cavaliers in game 1. The Celtics will look to keep their momentum going and win game 2 in front of a raucous Boston crowd. If the Celtics continue to contain LeBron James then the Celtics have a great chance of taking a 2-0 lead.

The Cavaliers have been in this position before, and LeBron James knows how to respond in the playoffs. Cleveland got plenty of open looks in game 1, and will need to knock down those looks in game 2. Boston will do whatever they can do to stop James, but they won’t be able to hold him down in game 2. Look for LeBron and his teammates to respond in a big way in game 2, and even up the series. Take the Cleveland Cavaliers +1 over the Boston Celtics on Tuesday.
