On Sunday, July 24, Los Angeles Galaxy and Atlanta United will meet for the fourth time in history. Each of their previous duels saw the team from Georgia triumphing dominantly, with a total score differential of 9-0. Offshore betting odds, however, suggest that the end of Atlanta’s dominance is nigh. Los Angeles Galaxy is an odds-on favorite in bookmakers’ eyes.

Before Betting on Los Angeles Galaxy vs Atlanta United

Los Angeles Galaxy is the most successful MLS franchise in history with nine appearances in the MLS Cup Finals, five of which saw them win the trophy. This season, however, offshore sportsbooks don’t think Galaxy will win the title. In fact, oddsmakers seem unsure whether this team will make the playoffs at all.

Right now, the guys from LA are in the #7 position in the West, but their recent run really needs to worry them. They are 1-0-5 in the previous six MLS rounds, conceding 13 goals along the way. Galaxy need to pull themselves together ASAP if they want to get to the postseason. The good news is that they got a good chance to do that this Sunday when they’re taking on another out-of-form team.

The team in question is Atlanta United, which is sitting in the #11 position in the East with a 1-2-2 record in the past five rounds. Even though their form is horrible, these guys did start showing some signs of improvement recently. For instance, they drew 1-1 with Orlando City in the previous game, which is a team from near the top of the conference table.

Another important thing to know is that Atlanta United has the most valuable roster of all the teams in the MLS. The trouble, however, is that their squad is decimated by injuries, with as many as eight players expected to miss Sunday’s game.

It’s almost guaranteed that this is going to be an entertaining duel. We should see plenty of goals on Saturday, probably on both ends. That said, a 1-1 or 2-2 draw seems like the most likely outcome.
