The Tampa Bay Lightning will be looking to recover from a recent setback this weekend, as they travel to Washington to take on the Capitals. Meanwhile, the hosts will be hoping to recover from their recent defeat, and pick up a fifth win in their previous eleven games.

Before Betting On Lightning vs Capitals

This should be a very interesting game in the NHL on Friday evening, as the Lightning and Capitals have been in very similar form throughout the season. The Washington Capitals will have home advantage, but they have lost four times in regulation in their previous ten fixtures. During that time, they have recorded just four victories.

In their previous game, they were well beaten by the Pittsburgh Penguins in Washington. The Penguins won that fixture 4-1, with three of their goals being scored in the second period. The only goal for the Capitals in that heavy defeat was scored in the final period by Marcus Johansson.

The Tampa Bay Lightning appear to be pretty big outsiders to reach the Stanley Cup finals for the third straight year this term, as they currently sit down in fifth in the Atlantic Division standings. They have won six of their previous ten, but they have already been beaten on five occasions in 13 fixtures this term.

They come into this fixture after a defeat in their previous game, as they were beaten at home by the Edmonton Oilers earlier this week. The Lightning scored in the opening period and the final period, with their efforts being netted by Brandon Hagel and Alex Kilorn. However, they will need to get back on track this weekend.

This is a game that could be won by either side. However, the slight preference is for the home side, who has been slightly more consistent at home this term than they have been on the road.
