- Iowa State finished ranked #15 last year at 11-3, after winning their bowl game.
- Kansas State hovered just outside the Top-25, posting an unranked 9-4 record.
- These two teams last met on November 30, 2024, in a game Iowa State won 29-21.
The 2025 college football season kicks off with a ranked vs ranked Big-12 clash in Dublin. Both the Cyclones and the Wildcats are seeking to crack the CFP this year, likely needing to win the conference to do so. This game will set the tone, with the winner gaining a very notable victory, while the loser faces an uphill climb.
Iowa State vs Kansas State Prop Bets
Rocco Becht O/U 230 Passing Yards
Now in his fourth year with Iowa State, and third as the starter, Rocco Becht continues to solidify himself as competent passer and signal caller. He averaged over 250 yards per game last season, making this 230-yard prop seem like an easy push for the over. Be a bit wary of some jetlag on the way to Dublin creating the potential for a slow start, but Becht should still clear 230 yards with relative ease against KSU’s defense.
Pick
Becht OVER 230 Yds (-110)

Abu Sama III O/U 40 Rushing Yards
Iowa State also retains their lead running back from last season, though Sama saw some major regression from 7.3 YPC to 4.7 YPC last year. Whether or not he bounces back will depend on his health and the ability of the Cyclones’ offensive line to create openings for him. Regardless, expect Sama to get at minimum 10-15 touches in what should be a matchup with a lot of offensive firepower. Take the over on this one as well.
Pick
Sama OVER 40 Yds (-105)

Iowa State +4.0 vs Kansas State
The starters that the Cyclones retained on offense give them a good chance of winning this game, despite losing some key players in other areas. Both of the teams in this matchup were hit with roster turnover, so they stand in completely different places as the end of last season. Vegas seems to think those changes benefit Kansas State, but I would be wary of expecting them to make a big enough leap to pull off the win.
Pick
Iowa State Cyclones (+4.0)
