Event Preview
A final opportunity to build momentum ahead of the start of The Masters for players on the DP World Tour is set for New Delhi this weekend, as the Indian Open is staged at DLF Golf & Country Club. A talented field will compete across 7,416 yards for their share of the $2.2 million purse.
Akshay Bhatia is a notable player involved this weekend, as the American bypasses the Houston Open to compete in India. The 24-year-old has been in reliable form so far this term, most recently finishing T13 at The Players.
David Puig will also be involved this weekend, as the 24-year-old takes a break from action on the LIV schedule. The 24-year-old was last seen finishing T6 at LIV Golf South Africa, marking his second top-ten finish in three starts on the Tour.
Casey Jarvis is one of the fastest improving stars on the DP World Tour this season. The 22-year-old South African’s confidence should be high after taking T2 at the Joburg Open, finishing just a shot off the lead. He is already a two-time winner on the Tour since the start of February.
Indian Open Picks
Eugenio Chacarra could be an interesting angle this weekend, having previously shown that he handles the course when taking fifth in the International Series India in New Delhi a couple of months ago.
The Spaniard has largely been reliable this year, taking T21 at the Puerto Rico Open, and T15 at the Dubai Invitational.
