Generational boxing talents will renew their intense rivalry from the late 2000s in September, as Floyd Mayweather defends his perfect professional record in a rematch with Manny Pacquiao.

The two famously collided in the ‘Fight of the Century’ in 2015, with Mayweather winning via unanimous points decision. However, the first fight was widely received as underwhelming, with many questioning why the fight would eventually be made ten years after there was an initial interest in the bout.

However, the rematch is likely to be one of the most-watched boxing events in history, with a global audience attracted to the spectacle on Netflix. September’s bout will be Mayweather’s first professional appearance since beating Conor McGregor in August 2017. However, the decorated star has since fought in high profile exhibitions.

Pacquiao has more recent professional experience to his name, returning to the ring in July 2025, fighting out a draw against Mario Barrios for the WBC welterweight belt. The 47-year-old will be the outsider in the betting to beat Mayweather, just as he was for the first bout between the stars.
