What’s New in F1 in 2026?
Sweeping regulation changes promise to mix up the grid in 2026, with the biggest adaptations to rules in a generation set to come into place. Power units, aerodynamic changes, and new safety regulations will all be altered during the off-season.
Interestingly, the 2026 cars will be a lot smaller than the 2025 cars, meaning that overtaking should be easier to achieve. However, the Drag Reduction System (DRS) will be replayed with a new manual override engine mode, which could be a ground-breaking advantage for drivers when it comes to overtaking.
On track, there will also be notable changes. Cadillac will become the eleventh team on the grid, with veterans Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez joining forces. Audi will make their F1 debut after purchasing the Sauber team, with Nico Hulkenberg and Gabiriel Bortoleto keeping their seats.
Meanwhile, Isack Hadjar has been promoted to be Max Verstappen’s teammate at Red Bull after an excellent rookie year in 2025. British F2 driver Arvid Lindblad will replace the Frenchman at Racing Bulls.
Early F1 Drivers’ Championship Pick
A fascinating pre-season testing could offer clues in early 2026, but a lot has been made about Adrian Newey’s move to Aston Martin.
The legendary designer has been mapping out potential success for the team since arriving from Aston Martin, and there is a solid chance that the team will be very competitive in 2026.
Therefore, two-time world champion Fernando Alonso could be an overpriced selection if the vibes surrounding the team are accurate.
