Event Preview

The race for the NASCAR Cup Series Championship continues this weekend, as the first road course of the campaign will be used in the DuraMax Grand Prix.

This race has been a welcome addition to the schedule since 2021, with the iconic Circuit of the Americas hosting the race. The drivers will complete a total of 95 laps, with the final stage seeing 30 laps contested. Hendrick Motorsports is the most successful team with two victories.

Tyler Reddick is very much the man to beat after maintaining his dominant start to the season by winning the second straight race running. Reddick was excellent from start to finish in last weekend’s Autotrader 400, and his form will make him very challenging to oppose.

Chase Elliott eventually finished eleventh in last weekend’s race, showing strong form after finishing fourth in the Daytona 500. Bubba Wallace and Zane Smith have both achieved top-ten finishes in the opening two rounds.

Shane van Gisbergen thrives on this surface, meaning that he shouldn’t be overlooked. Meanwhile, Kyle Larson will be hopeful of getting his title bid back on track after a disappointing couple of weeks to start the new season.

Many drivers will have leading chances this weekend, but we could foresee Reddick’s winning start to the season coming to an end. Chase Briscoe drove excellently to take third in the Autotrader 400, and his previous winning record at the track makes him a standout chance.
