Fight Preview
Sensational world title action is set for Saudi Arabia at the end of November, as Brian Norman Jr defends his WBO Welterweight title against Devin Haney. The reigning champion from Georgia, USA, has been the holder of the gold since August 2024, and he has quickly become one of the most dominant fighters in the division.
Norman, nicknamed The Assassin II, has amassed an eye-catching professional record of 28-0-2, beating a staggering 22 of his opponents inside the distance. The knockout specialist has continued his dominance in the division this year. Most recently, he was in action stopping Jin Sasaki in the fifth round in Tokyo, Japan.
Haney is the more experienced of these two fighters, and he was previously the Super Lightweight champion between 2023 and 2024. The American also holds an impressive professional record, winning 32 of his 33 bouts. His only blip was a no-contest against Ryan Garcia following his opponent failing a drugs test.
Haney has since bounced back to his very best form, winning via unanimous decision against the dangerous Jose Ramirez in New York City in May. His ability to dictate fights has seen him collect the scalps of a number of world-leading fighters, including Vasily Lomachenko and George Kambosos Jr. However, he will need to deal with a proven knockout specialist if he is to become a three-weight world champion in November.
Devin Haney vs. Brian Norman Jr Picks
Norman’s ability at this weight ensures that he is a deserving favorite. However, he is yet to come up against an opponent with a higher Ring IQ than Haney.
Haney’s ability to stand against the very best leaves him in a very strong position, and he could be the obvious value play when making Devin Haney vs. Brian Norman Jr picks in November.
