Event Preview

The action on the West Coast Swing of the PGA Tour schedule continues this weekend, as the Cognizant Classic is staged at the Champion Course at PGA National Resort and Spa. This weekend’s field will be competing across 7,125 yards to win their share of the $9.6 million purse.

Shane Lowry will be a solid selection this weekend after previously enjoying his trips to PGA National. The Irishman has made the cut on all eight starts in the event, finishing in the top eleven on his last four trips. His best result to date came when finishing as the runner-up in 2022.

Lowry will battle for favouritism with Ryan Gerard. The American has been an early trailblazer on the FedEx Cup standings, and he is the only star currently in the top 30 to feature this weekend. Gerard has solid experience at the course, finishing T25 last year.

A strong European contingent will be involved this weekend, including Danish star Nicolai Hojgaard. The Dane showed excellent form when finishing T3 at the Phoenix Open earlier this month, meaning that he has finished in the top four on three of his last six starts.

Cognizant Classic Picks

There is plenty of value in the betting this weekend, and Keith Mitchell is an eye-catching play. The American won this event back in 2019, and has continued to show his best game at PGA National, finishing in a T9 on two starts since that maiden PGA Tour win.
