Best Bets for the 2025 Breeders’ Cup

Havana Anna (Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint)

One of our first best bets for the 2025 Breeders’ Cup comes in the very first graded race of the meeting. Havana Anna looks incredibly overpriced in the G1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint, and has very little to find on True Love based on their recent clash in the G1 Cheveley Park.

The drop back to five furlongs should suit the selection more so than True Love, and she will get her desired ground conditions this weekend after previously winning twice over the Juvenile Turf Sprint distance on quick ground. A lot to like about this very progressive filly.

Pick
Havana Anna (+700)

El Cordobes (Breeders’ Cup Turf)

A fascinating renewal of the Breeders’ Cup Turf will see a lot of money come in for Minnie Hauk and Rebel’s Romance at the top of the betting. However, I have doubts surrounding both, with the former coming into this race after a hard effort in the Arc, and the reigning champion unlikely to get the run of he race.

El Cordobes has been on my radar for a long time, and has winning form over the re-opposing Wimbledon Hawkeye already. Made a striking impression on U.S. debut in the Sword Dancer, before being unsuited by the small field when given far too much to do in the G1 Joe Hirsch Turf Classic.

A big field to run at enhances his chances this weekend, and at odds of +2800, he is a massive price for win purposes. He could also be a big price on the day to place, and the Charlie Appleby runner could be a valuable selection in Exotics.

Pick
El Cordobes (+2800)

Gezora (Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf)

The final race of the Breeders’ Cup comes in the form of the Filly & Mare Turf. Francis Graffard has won some big prizes across the globe this year, and Gezora could hand his success in the U.S. on Saturday.

The progressive three-year-old has only had one bad run, with that coming on softer than ideal ground in the Arc last time. If you put a line through that run, she is incredibly efficient, having won the G1 Prix de Diane and G2 Prix Saint-Alary this calendar year.

She is likely to be overlooked due to her last run, but quick ground could bring out the very best in her, and she stays this trip better than most of the runners that will oppose.

Pick
Gezora (+475)

50% up to $1000
