The final round of Champions League fixtures before the draw for the group stages is made takes place this week. There are a number of playoff ties, and one side that will looking to earn their spot in the group stages are Benfica, who reached the quarterfinals of the competition last term.

Before Betting On Benfica vs Dynamo Kyiv

It has been a relatively strong start to the new season for Benfica, as they have won all five fixtures that they have played. They entered the Champions League in the third qualifying round, where they eased past Midtjylland easily with a 7-2 aggregate win.

The Portuguese giants already have a firmly hold on this tie, as they won the first leg between the sides last week. Benfica wrapped up a 2-0 win and very rarely looked in danger of allowed Dynamo Kyiv to get into the tie. The Potuguese side went ahead after nine minutes, as Gilberto Moraes Junior opened the scoring. The advantage was doubled before the half time break through Goncalo Ramos.

Kyiv offered very little in the way of a fight back in the second half, and their task looks extremely difficult ahead of the second leg between the sides this week. In the first leg, they managed just three shots on target, and looked to play on the counter-attack.

However, Benfica looked just too sharp for their opponents in Poland, and it looks hard to see the Ukrainian side getting a foothold back in the tie in the second leg this week.

This tie already looks over as a contest, as Benfica’s 2-0 first leg lead looks difficult to overturn. The bookies have the Portuguese side as clear favourites to win the second leg, and we find it difficult to see Benfica not winning the second leg. Therefore, the best selections look to be wagers on Benfica at -290 with Betonline and SportsBetting.ag.
