Aston Villa’s Champions League future is at stake in the next few weeks. They need to rebuff Tottenham’s attacks and pressure and keep that fourth spot in the standings. As for the Wolves, they are experiencing a mediocre season, with the team not reaching its potential.

Before Betting on Aston Villa vs. Wolves

Villa is ahead of Tottenham by three points, but the rivals from London played one game fewer. An additional issue for the team from Villa Park is that they haven’t won back-to-back games. Following a loss to Tottenham at home, 0-4, they played 1-1 on the road against West Ham.

They have been pushing well in the Europa Conference League, reaching the quarterfinals following a victory over Ajax in the round of 16, 0-0 in Amsterdam and 4-0 at home. Villa is one of the better teams at home in the Premiership, with 10 wins, one tie, and three defeats, netting 35 times and allowing 19 goals.

Many expected more from the Wolves this year. We did as well. The loss to Coventry in the FA Cup sealed this year as mediocre, with them losing chances to win any trophy. A defeat in this one was shocking because Wolves conceded twice in stoppage time, in the 97th and 100th minutes, with the hosts leading 2-1 before that.

What boosts the confidence of the fans ahead of this matchup are solid results on the road. Until losing to Newcastle on the most recent road trip, the unit from Molineux had six consecutive matchups in which they managed to stay unbeaten.

Villa is after a win, but we wouldn’t bet on this because these two clubs have a rivalry that is a bit rough. Their two stadiums are 15 miles apart, and there is a long history of tough meetings between the two local competitions. Instead, betting on three or more goals is safer due to the offensive mentality of both squads and their high-scoring performances this year.
