Ohtani Time Dwindling Down

Another disappointing season for one of the most talented teams in MLB is coming to an end as the Los Angeles Angels aim for the sweep over the Oakland A’s. Despite having Mike Trout and reigning MVP Shohei Ohtani, the Angels are just 69-86 and are over 30 games off the pace in the AL West.

Los Angeles has a chance to close out the year on a high note, they’re looking for a sweep and their fourth straight win and Ohtani makes what will likely be his penultimate start of the season. The Angels have won five straight Ohtani starts and he’s continued to be dialed in with a 3-0, 1.44 ERA during September.

The A’s are just trying to get this 56-99 season over with, and they’ve lost five of their last six down the stretch. Cole Irvin (9-12, 4.05 ERA) makes his fourth start of the year against the Angels, currently 0-3 but with just a 2.70 ERA.

A’s vs Angels Thursday Summary

You have to go with the Angels here, with better value on the run line even though the series has been somewhat close so far. Ohtani will also limit the A’s to one or two runs so the under is also in play.
