Event Preview

One of the most iconic events on the PGA Tour is set for the Bay Hill Club this weekend, as the Arnold Palmer Invitational gets underway on Thursday. A star-studded field will be involved, but once again the betting will be dominated by Scottie Scheffler.

The world number one endured a rare off-weekend at the Genesis last time out, finishing down in T12. Despite that, he still finished just seven shots off the lead. Scheffler will be well rested following that effort, and his claims as two-time previous winner of the Arnold Palmer Invitational are obvious.

Rory McIlroy will also be competitive at the top of the betting. Was T2 at Riviera last time out, and he also holds excellent previous course form, winning at Bay Hill in 2018 among six top tens.

Tommy Fleetwood’s PGA Tour hoodoo was ended last year, and the reigning FedEx Cup champion’s record at Bay Hill will make him a solid contender. Has finished in the top ten on his last two starts, and his consistency will once again make him challenging to overlook.

Shane Lowry was below his usual best last weekend, but has finished third and seventh at the Arnold Palmer Invitational on his last two visits. Jacob Bridgeman also looks like a player who should thrive this weekend after finishing T15 on his first visit 12 months ago.

Arnold Palmer Invitational Picks

Confidence is the key to getting the best performance level from Collin Morikawa. He broke his losing streak on the PGA Tour at Pebble Beach earlier this year, and he holds solid course form after finishing as the runner-up in 2025. Could avenge that this weekend.
