Antonio Brown has been accused of rape in a civil law suit by former trainer who according to Brown he had a consensual relationship with.

Antonio Brown Accused of Rape

As reported by various media outlets, Antonio Brown has been accused of rape by his former trainer Brittney Taylor in a civil lawsuit. According to Taylor, she was sexually assaulted on three occasions. She has filed the lawsuit in the Southern District of Florida. For his part, Antonio Brown has denied the allegations. A lawyer representing Brown says that Taylor and Brown had “a consensual relationship.”

Taylor made the following statement regarding the incidents:

“As a rape victim of Antonio Brown, deciding to speak out has been an incredibly difficult decision…Speaking out removes the shame that I have felt for the past year and places it on the person responsible for my rape.” Brittney Taylor

Brown and Taylor Have Known Each Other a Long Time

According to the lawsuit, Brown and Taylor met while they were students at the University of Central Michigan. Taylor says that Brown contacted her in 2017 through Facebook to ask her to help him train. As a former gymnast, Brown was looking for her to help him with his flexibility and overall strength. The lawsuit also includes what are believed to be text messages by Brown concerning the second assault.

The situation becomes a little bit more complicated as according to Taylor, she cut off ties with Brown after the second assault. She then agreed to work with him again after he apologized and said he would provide her with hotel accommodations for future training sessions. She says that in May of 2018 he raped her again at his home in Miami.

According to Brown’s Lawyers the Relationship was Consensual

One of Brown’s lawyers, Darren Heitner says that Taylor invited herself to join Brown and his friends while they were out one night before she agreed to go home with him. He claims they then engaged in consensual sex at his Miami residence.

Another twist to the story is that according to Heitner, Taylor approached Brown back in 2017 about making a $1.6-million-dollar investment. The investment was for an undisclosed business project to which Brown declined. Heitner also claims that she reached out to Brown for tickets to Pittsburgh Steelers games as well as having gone to his home multiple times.

Another Chapter in the Antonio Brown Saga

It’s way to early to jump to any conclusions but the fact that Antonio Brown has been accused of rape is another reminder of how out of control his life has been. The drama with the Raiders was one of the strangest episodes in NFL history. The end of his tenure in Pittsburgh was full of crazy episodes, including a lawsuit for throwing furniture off his balcony.

Whatever is going on with him, he needs to get it corrected. He is innocent until proven guilty but his erratic behavior over the past two years makes this story very believable in the eyes his haters. The way Brown has behaved recently, there are plenty of haters to go around. That being said, this is bigger that football. Antonio Brown has been accused of rape and he better take this a lot more seriously than he has taken his football career lately. The NFL will begin an investigation of their own.
