2025 NFL Draft Discussion & Odds
The 2025 NFL Draft takes place this month! It's viewed to be a somewhat weak QB class, but Cam Ward is still expected to go 1st overall. Meanwhile, WR/CB Travis Hunter has the Shohei Ohtani appeal of being able to play two positions, but there's questions about how many snaps is sustainable at the NFL level. There's not much competition in the odds for the top spot, but it gets dicey after that. Here are the #1 pick odds:
Cam Ward -1350
Abdul Carter +600
Travis Hunter +3700
Shedeur Sanders +4200
Do you foresee any major trades or surprises in the top-10 picks? It's shaping up to be a pretty unpredictable draft.
Tennessee might take Ward, but I’d trade the pick and take Hunter.
@prince_of_ny If they get a good haul for the first pick, this is definitely a good draft to go for it. I think most analysts have Ward ranked behind J.J. McCarthy from last year's draft, so he may go later than expected.
The pressure on the Titans new GM to take Ward is gonna be insane. I’m not big on any of these QBs coming out.
@lebowitz It will be really interesting to see if Ward and Sanders go top-3 as many expect or fall to a more appropriate range. Also curious to see if we get any surprises like Nix and Penix early last year. Wouldn't be stunned to see someone like Carson Beck way overdrafted.
I can't see Shedeur going that high. I think the Cowboys are gonna take him if he falls to them.
Cam Ward is not a 1-1, but the Titans are obviously gonna take him.
It’s unquantifiable, but there should be an “odds of the Jets/Giants/Cowboys doing something dumb.”
That would actually be a really funny feature to have on the site - semi-pointless quizzes that we can communally vote on.
@butfirsttea Given the Giants and Jets management, I hesitate to think they'll do something overtly dumb. The Giants will take either Hunter or Carter, neither of which are arguable.
The Cowboys? I insist they're gonna take Shedeur if he's there. Though the Saints might take him before he gets to Dallas.
We have no way of knowing — nor will we ever know — how this player is assessed if his name is Shedeur Jones from New Jersey.
I was thinking there might be a Tebow/Kaepernick effect going on too. “Yeah, I might be able to use him, but he’s not good enough to deal with the media and fans asking me about him all day, every day.”
He’s gonna go in the 1st 15 picks of Rd 2.
And Shedeur Sanders as Mr. Irrelevant.
The Ravens drafting a kicker says they have info on Tucker and his...proclivities...and Tucker can't plausibly deny his way out of it.
@keith He had his career worst season last year, so there's cover to cut him if they want to, whether it's because of the allegations or not. But Biscotti and Harbaugh wouldn't throw him under the bus that quickly after more than 10 years of service and objective brilliance -- the guy is a Hall of Famer -- unless their internal investigators found stuff that Tucker can't get out of. Nobody wastes a draft pick on a kicker unless they intend on keeping him.
Shedeur wasn't even the first guy with the surname Sanders picked.
I spent 7 years at 3 colleges like Tyler Shough. No NFL team drafted me.
