With the buildup to Super Bowl LX between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks gathering pace, the prop markets have opened on one of the old classics: Will we see a streaker on the field of play?
The betting conditions are specific on this one, as it needs to happen between the kick-off and the end of the game, so anything before the game starts or during the post-match celebrations isn’t going to count.
The odds are up on BetOnline, and currently sit heavily in favor of “no”.

Why Would Anyone Enter the Field of Play?
The short answer to this is to gain attention. Over 100 million people watch the Super Bowl every year, though the broadcast tends to cut away from the field as soon as a streaker is spotted.
This doesn’t mean it won’t still happen, as social media clips of any incidents will go viral, especially if a player, coach, or official gets involved with the intruder.
Reasons range from marketing and promotion to simply getting drunk and doing a dare, but it doesn’t end well for anyone who takes to the field.
Yuri Andrade: Super Bowl 2021 Streaker
Perhaps the most notorious streaker in Super Bowl history, Yuri Andrade captured the attention of the world’s media in 2021 when he took to the field to interrupt the game between the Chiefs and Bucs.
Andrade wasn’t naked when he entered the field; instead, he chose to wear a pink bikini, which may have had a marketing slogan on the front.
The real reason he gained notoriety is that he claimed he bet $50k on a streaker during the game, expecting a payout of over $400k.
Unfortunately for Andrade, his public comments alerted Bovada to his activity, and it’s believed they cancelled bets placed by him or his associates due to insider information.
The odds at that time were around +750, so with Super Bowl LX offering only +300 for a streaker, it feels like there’s a strong possibility it could happen again.
What Happens if You Illegally Enter the Field of Play?
Some might see it as a fair idea to attempt to emulate Andrade and claim the winnings for themselves, but the truth is that nothing good can happen if you do choose to streak at the Super Bowl.
Punishments include:
- Jail Time
- Fines
- Potentially being tackled by a 300+ pound athlete in full pads
- Permanent ban from the arena
- Bans from attending football/sporting events
- Probation + Community Service
Whilst none of these are positive outcomes, an invader was once tackled by Bobby Wagner, with reports claiming he was knocked out by the contact.
Our Pick
Whilst there’s always a possibility of a streaker entering the field, it feels especially unlikely this year for a number of reasons.
Firstly, the ticket cost may make you reconsider carrying out the stunt, but the current state of civil unrest in the United States suggests there will be enhanced security.
The NFL tries especially hard to play nice with the government and won’t want any political protest headlines, so even getting close to the field might be impossible, never mind getting on it.
