Playoff-bound Buffalo Sabres will be chasing back-to-back wins when they travel to Madison Square Garden on April 8 to take on the New York Rangers.
The Oilers come into this round sitting second in the Atlantic Division, and were winners against the Tampa Bay Lightning in their latest outing. Meanwhile, the Rangers have landed wins in each of their previous two.
It has been an underwhelming season for Mike Sullivan’s NY Rangers, who have missed out on the playoffs for the second straight season. However, confidence will be gained from the team’s recent performances after winning each of their last two.
Despite that, the franchise remain at the bottom of the Metropolitan Division. Home issues have seen their progress stutter throughout the campaign, going 13-19-7 at MSG. However, a recent home win was achieved in eye-catching fashion against the Washington Capitals, with Will Cuylle scoring three times in the 8-1 success.
The Buffalo Sabres will be aiming to finish the regular season at the top of the Eastern Conference standings. They come into this round sitting second in the Atlantic Division after accumulating an overall record of 47-23-8 in the NHL. T
heir recent form is also solid after winning five of their last ten, and losing just three times in regulation. Last time out, the Sabres recorded a an excellent 4-2 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning.
