Dustin May starts for St. Louis after getting hammered in his first outing. He gave up 10 hits allowed over 4 innings with a 13.50 ERA. The 28-year-old signed a one-year, $12.5 million deal with the Cardinals in December after a rough 2025 where he went 8-15 with a 4.96 ERA and 1.42 WHIP in 132.1 innings split between the Dodgers and Red Sox.
St. Louis is hitting .232 with 7 home runs through six games. Nolan Gorman leads with 2 homers and 6 RBI while batting .238. Victor Scott II is hitting .350 to pace the lineup. The Cardinals have scored 29 runs and sit 4-2. The pitching staff ERA is 4.26.
Jack Flaherty goes for Detroit after allowing 4 hits and 4 walks over 4.1 innings in his first start. The 30-year-old went 8-15 with a 4.64 ERA last year in 161 innings with the Tigers.
