In-Form Hosts Showing Professional Nature

LAFC will once again be one of the leading contenders in the Western Conference of the MLS in 2026. It has been a professional start to the season by the franchise, winning four of their five fixtures in the competitions. However, a return to form will be required on Saturday after playing out a 0-0 draw on the road against Austin FC before the international break.

Their biggest strength so far this term has been their defensive record, having kept clean sheets in all five of their matches. David Martinez, Denis Bouanga, and Heung Min-Son will all start on Saturday, with the latter still looking for his first goal of the 2026 season.

Orlando Showing Good Signs Under Interim Coach

Orlando City had endured a turbulent start to the 2026 season, which led to the departure of long-serving head coach Oscar Pareja. Martin Perelman has been placed in interim control, and his impact was immediate, leading the team to a 2-1 win over Montreal before the international break.

That was a much better display by City, as they played on the counter-attack, and were emphatic in front of goal, hitting the target with half of their 14 efforts. A similar approach is expected this weekend, but it would be a concern that they have allowed an average of 5.00 goals per game.

LAFC vs. Orlando City Picks

Orlando showed good signs in their recent win, but this is a step up in opposition. LAFC’s excellent defensive record will give them the platform to build on Saturday, and we could see them recording another victory to nil.
