Pressure on Home Team to Respond
Pascal Jansen’s NYCFC have been one of the standout teams at the start of the Eastern Conference, as they sit second in the overall standings after winning three of their opening five fixtures. However, a return to form will be required this Saturday after losing 3-2 at home to Inter Miami before the international break.
That defeat ended their 100% record at Citi Field. But, their attacking players have still flourished in home clashes, scoring ten goals in three fixtures. Nicolas Fernandez has been lethal in front of goal so far this season, scoring five goals in as many appearances to match his tally from the entirety of the previous campaign.

St. Louis To Build on First Win of the Season
Yoann Damet’s St. Louis have made a slow start to the MLS campaign, but positives can be taken after recording their first win of 2026 in the previous round of matches. The 3-1 home success against New England was a welcome return to form after losing three straight matches without scoring following an opening night draw against Charlotte.
Simon Becher opened his account for the season in the recent win. However, it would be a concern that St. Louis have suffered successive defeats in their road matches in 2026, conceding four goals and failing to score.

NYCFC vs. St. Louis Picks
St. Louis have really struggled in their road matches so far this season. Therefore, it is logical to suggest that NYCFC will get their form back on track after suffering a first defeat of the season before the international break.
