The Sharks have shown excellent recent form, winning each of their last three. Meanwhile, the Maple Leafs will be hoping to end the season in reliable form, despite looking set to miss out on the playoffs.

The San Jose Sharks will continue their pursuit of a playoff spot in the NHL on Thursday, as they chase a fourth straight win. The Sharks have shown an excellent reversal in their fortunes, winning just one of their previous six before the start of their winning sequence.
Offensively, they have been relatively strong throughout the campaign, netting a total of 224 goals. Macklin Celebrini is undeniably their most important player, with the star leading the franchise for goals (40), assists (65), and points (105).

A miserable season for the Toronto Maple Leafs has just over two weeks remaining. The Leafs already look unlikely to make the playoffs, enduring an inconsistent overall record of 32-30-13 in 2025-26.
Auston Matthews has once again been one of the few bright sparks for the team, scoring a Leafs-high 27 goals. Toronto bounced back from a 5-1 road loss against the St. Louis Blues in their previous outing, as they landed a 5-4 overtime win over the Anaheim Ducks.
