Inter Miami will be in action for the first time at their new home stadium on April 4, as Austin FC are the first visitors to the Nu Stadium.
Miami will be heavily preferred to kickstart the new era with a victory against an Austin side that have struggled for offensive quality in the opening month of the 2026 season.

Inter Miami’s rise to the top of soccer in North America has been eye-catching, winning the MLS Cup for the first time in 2025. A lot of their success stems from the signing of Lionel Messi, who will be honored with a stand at the Nu Stadium named in his honor.
Messi has been an influential figure for the team at the start of the season, scoring four times in as many appearances. The Argentine was among the scorers in their most recent outing, as Miami recorded a 3-2 road success against New York City. But, defensive issues will need to be addressed, as Miami have allowed 1.6 goals per game in 2026.

Nico Estevez’s Austin FC will be the massive outsiders in the betting to upset the odds this weekend. It has been a challenging start to the campaign for the franchise, winning just once in their opening five, and losing two of their previous three.
A major issue for Austin has been their attacking output, reflected after they failed to score in a recent 0-0 draw against LAFC despite dominating the ball. Playing on the road also hasn’t suited Austin in 2026, losing each of their two away matches, and conceding 2.5 goals per game.

Inter Miami look set for a blossoming homecoming this weekend. Austin’s poor away record makes them hard to support, while Inter’s blistering offensive quality should ensure that they power to a two or three-goal win.
