Eastern Conference rivals collide on April 2, as the inconsistent Florida Panthers host the red-hot Boston Bruins in the Atlantic Division.
The Panthers will be aiming to build on a recent win, while the Bruins have shown solid form since the start of last month, winning each of their last four games.
Paul Maurice’s Florida Panthers staved off the inevitable last time out, as a win over the Ottawa Senators ensured they remained in playoff contention for another few days.
However, the Stanley Cup champions remain bottom of the Atlantic Division, and their two-year hold on the prestigious honor almost certainly looks set to come to an end in 2026. Florida have won 36 of their 74 games this season, and despite a recent win over the Senators, they have suffered six regulation time defeats in their last ten.

Marco Sturm’s Boston Bruins are within touching distance of achieving a playoff finish, rectifying their miss in the post-season last term. The Bruins have gone 42-24-8 overall this season, winning 27 of their games at TD Garden.
Momentum certainly favors their chances this week, as Boston have won four on the bounce, and they have recorded seven victories in their last ten. Meanwhile, they have suffered just one regulation defeat over the same period. Their most recent win was a 6-3 success over the Dallas Stars on Tuesday evening.

Thursday’s game could mark the end of the road for the Panthers and their playoff dreams. We like the chances of the Bruins to extend their winning streak in the NHL, while their chances are aided after winning 53% of their previous head-to-heads with the Panthers.
