Golden State had won three straight before coming up short against the Denver Nuggets 116-93 on Sunday night.

The short-handed Warriors kept it competitive early and even led by seven points at halftime. Unfortunately, they were unable to sustain their early momentum, as Denver outscored them 70-40 after the break, including a decisive 40-21 edge in the third quarter.
Kristaps Porzingis and Brandin Podziemski tied for team-high scoring honors. Both finished with 23 points each. Gary Payton II led the bench unit with 16 points on 7-of-8 shooting from the field. He also had five rebounds.
Following a five-point loss to Denver, the Spurs enter this matchup riding the wave of a nine-game win streak. This stretch includes a 129-114 victory against the Chicago Bulls.
San Antonio led by one point after the first quarter. But thanks to a balanced scoring attack, the home team extended its advantage to 29 points in the third en route to its 57th win of the season.
Victor Wembanyama was one of six players in double figures for the Spurs. He controlled both ends of the floor with 41 points, 16 rebounds, four assists, and three blocked shots. Stephon Castle chipped in with 21 points, 10 dimes, and eight boards.
