Interesting action from the Western Conference is set for the NHL on April 1, as the Los Angeles Kings host the St. Louis Blues.
The Kings remain in a very strong position to achieve a playoff finish, but they have won just three times in their last ten. Meanwhile, the Blues sit seventh in the Central Division despite winning six of their previous ten.
D.J. Smith’s interim stay at the LA Kings has endured a mixed first month. The Californian team remain in a strong position to finish in the playoffs, but it would be a slight concern that they have recorded just three wins in their last ten NHL games.
The Kings must bounce back following a poor defensive showing over the weekend, as they suffered a damaging 6-2 home loss against the Utah Mammoth. Adrian Kempe’s performance was one of the few positives, as the star scored once and registered one assist.

Jim Montgomery’s St. Louis Blues already appear to be out of playoff contention after enduring a miserable start to the season. However, they have shown quality across their last ten to record six victories.
The Blues have shown more offensive threat since the start of March, scoring 14 goals in their last four games. However, they were overpowered in their most recent outing, eventually losing 5-4 at the San Jose Sharks. Robert Thomas has been a standout player for the Blues, scoring a team-high 48 points.
