Mammoth in Thick of Playoff Race

Andre Tourigny’s Utah Mammoth are enjoying an excellent season in the NHL, as they sit fourth in the Central Division.

The franchise appears to be in a strong position to achieve a playoff finish this term, as they currently sit clear of fifth-place Nashville Predators. Utah’s star player has been Clayton Keller, who has racked up 46 assists, and recorded a team-high 68 points.

The Mammoth also recorded a fifth win in their last ten over the weekend, as they claimed a dramatic overtime success against the Los Angeles Kings. Lawson Crouse scored twice and added one assist.

Oilers Bidding to Snap Losing Streak

The Edmonton Oilers also come into the final month of the regular season in an excellent position, as they sit third in the Pacific Division after going 34-28-9.

That record sees Edmonton sit third in the division standings, and they are just five points adrift of the Anaheim Ducks at the summit. However, a response will be required this week, as they have suffered defeats in their last two.

Edmonton’s most recent defeat was a 5-2 home loss against the Tampa Bay Lightning. That defeat means that they have now allowed nine goals in their last two.
